Our Mission

It is our mission to educate the fundamentals of music while exploring fun, challenging repertoire, developing useful knowledge of music theory, and promoting commitment and self-confidence through the wonderful art of music performance.

We believe that the student-teacher relationship is an essential part of the learning process. One-on-one lessons promote trust and allow teachers to analyze students' individual growth, to develop their creative minds and musical tastes. Through positivity and encouragement, students are more open-minded to try new things!

Practice, Practice, Practice

Practice time is encouraged for progressive music education. We suggest all students practice at least 3 times a week prior to their lesson. We kindly ask for your participation in securing practice time to foster an enriched music education.

The Importance of Continuity

Consistency of lessons and the practice of repetition are integral in learning pieces and songs. Breaking that consistency by canceling lessons often or rescheduling lessons dulls that progress. To ensure you’re getting the most from our music program, we recommend students take lessons at least once a week. Twice a week is available for students interested in a more accelerated music program.

Parental Involvement (for students under 18 yrs of age)

Our teachers will inform parents of their child's progress and development throughout the semester. Therefore, we kindly ask that parents be involved in their child's music lessons. Please help us by going over any practice homework and assignments in their music studies to get the full benefits of our music program.

Please inform your teacher of any special needs and/or learning disabilities that may help us foster a safe learning environment for your child. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

The Art of Performance; Recitals & Testing

Our program encourages the art of music performance. Recitals are an excellent way for our students to experience those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that teach not only music performance, but necessary life skills for the soul.

23 Music Studios' bi-annual recitals are highly suggested. Failure to participate in at least 1 recital per school calendar year can result in termination of future lessons.

This year, 23 Music Studios will be holding its first ever  23 Music Studios Music Lesson Juries. Much like many conservatories, juries are an examination process of technique, music knowledge, and performance that help our program ensure a level of excellence not only from our students but through the evaluation of our teachers.

We ask that all students of at least 2 semesters enroll in our 23 Music Studios Juries.

Studio Etiquette

Students and teachers will not use profanity and/or be disrespectful to each other during lessons. Name-calling and/or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated during music lessons.

Students and teachers will dress appropriately for a respectful non-distracting learning environment. A t-shirt is required for all music lessons. If at any point a student/teacher feels uncomfortable in the learning environment, that lesson will end promptly.

Students and teachers will try to refrain from outside distractions during lessons, such as texts, phone calls, extraneous noises, company that is not a family member, etc. If for any reason the lesson becomes too disruptive, our teachers have the right to end any disruptive lesson without future rescheduling.

Students and teachers will agree upon music pieces. We love to receive song requests from our students (and their parents), however our teachers are trained professionals with their student’s best interest in mind for a successful music education.

FAQ; What happens if I need to forfeit lessons?

23 Music is a semester-based program that excels on continuity. Securing your lesson day also means requesting a valuable time slot with one of our experienced teachers. Through your reliability and their instruction, our program truly excels. Therefore ensuring that our teachers be compensated for their time and that students' time slots are secured for the entirety of a semester, any forfeited lessons will not be given a refund for any reason. If there has been a termination of lesson(s), 23 Music Studios has the right not to give any refund of lesson(s) at their discretion.
